I am sorry but the "text" related problem with DSOTM (CD & DVD) running the game under Win XP is there and as far as all the "computer gifted people" can say it will not "go away". Sad but true.

After me spending ages trying to find this game on DVD....now I can't run it !
This is pants !!!!!
Thanks for taking the time to answer me, it's just a shame to think that it's the end of this game as most of us will be running XP.

Status : Online | A few people have said that they were able to run it in XP, but I sure wasn't one of them.
I couldn't get it to work in Virtual PC either (running Windows 98 ) in XP.
But it works fine under Windows 98 SE, which is exactly why I have a dual boot of 98 and XP...so I can still run the games that refuse to work in XP (Amber, etc.).

Status : Offline | No, anyone can get the game to work on XP just fine - you just can't read any of the dialogue trees!
I agree it is rubbish, but I ended up playing it on a older computer that I kept for such an eventuality. Amber played beautifully on that system too. :
