Status : Online | This is my humble opinion.... but since you loved tlj I think we have similar taste...so here it goes...
Broken Sword 3 will probably suck big time, adventure/tomb raider hybrid..
Beneath a steel sky...haven't played it yet but everybody says it is a great game
Sam and max hit the road...a lot of people like it but it depends on what kind of humour you have. I didn't like it that much.
Day of the tentacle...must have. I loved the humour and some of the best and most original puzzles ever made in an adventure game
GK3. THE MUST HAVE SERIES for any adventure gamer. It would be better to start from no 1 to get the full story but if you don't want to start from no1 I think the best one to start is no 2. Since in my opinion is the best adventure game ever made. You haven't seen such a story not even in books.
Syberia...Another must have. Along with GK2 and TLJ the best adventures ever made in my opinion.
Monkey island 1-4 The first 3 are great. Good humour and funny (though sometimes illogical) puzzles. The last one sucks big time...
Maybe you also want to try dark seed, indiana jones and the last crusade, The loom (one of the best adventures ever also), the dig, shadow of the comet and the quest for glory series. King's quest 6 is also a great game. But these are oldies and difficult to find. Phantasmagoria 1 is also a really good horror game.
Have fun...

what sort of game engine does GK use? is it point and click? or is it the grim fandango type?
Its boring, there isn't any action at all. You walk around picking up things and using them with other items. You walk around and use the item on something. Walking around and talking to people is really lame, what about some shooting or something~APuddleduck&&

Status : Online | Greetings,
I'm not shure about Broken Sword 3... If it's gonna come out as a 3rd person action game it will probably suck big time but hey... I cant wait to play with George Stobbart again

Status : Online | Sam and Max - very funny game, quite short but also quite hard, I'd recommend this, especially as you get it in a double pack with...
Day of the Tentacle - also a great game, you get to play as 3 different characters in three different time periods, which I liked, as this makes for some very clever puzzles.
Monkey Island - 1 and 2 have not too good graphics and no voice acting but are still IMO great games, 1 is quite short once you know what you're doing but two is very long. 3 has completely different animation and also includes voices, this was my favourite of the MI games. You can play on two different difficulty levels and it has a very simple, easy to use point and click interface. MI4, however, does not - it uses keyboard controls, which I hated, though as you've played Grim you should be used to them. The weakest of the 4 but I'd still recommend it.
As for the rest, I haven't a clue!

Status : Online | All Gabriel Knight games are 3d person perspective so no slideshows in GK. I personally dislike slideshows also. But each Gabriel Knight has a different engine.
The first one is a traditional 2-d adventure game, like lure of the temptress, broken sword and tlj.
The second one is an FMV (full motion video) game, which means it uses filmed videos with real actors (and good ones) to show you the game. You see the character like in a 2d adventure and when you do an action you see a video with the actor doing this action. In some other games it was used badly (bad actors, or bad gameplay) but in GK2 it stays loyal to the core adventure features and just gives you the extra luxury of filmed sequences. The game has the feel of a movie, and it has the best story ever made for adventure games (along with tlj).
The third one is a 3d adventure but it is still point and click and 3rd person perspective. The interface is also quite good, but the graphics are not so suited to a mystery game, especially the characters. The story is again complex and fascinating and you will be amazed with Jane Jensen's (the creator of the game) story telling abilities.
With the second one being the best in the series, the other 2 are also two of the best adventures ever. You can check out the site www.gk4ever.com and view the intro. It is going to give you a good taste of what kind of series we are talking about.
