Allison Road is Your Path to Terror
Allison Road is Your Path to Terror
What would you do if you felt something stalking you in the dark of your own home? What if you couldn't tell what's real and what isn't?

Once upon a time there was a game in development called Silent Hills, announced via a playable teaser called P.T. (Playable Teaser -- duh). Movie director Guillermo del Toro and designer Hideo Kojima (Metal Gear Solid) were attached to the project, as was publisher Konami.

I'll skip the gory details and cut to the chase. Early in 2015, the well-received P.T. was pulled and the project was canceled, much to the dismay of a whole bunch of people.

Well, it appears that Allison Road may be P.T.'s spiritual successor, and it doesn't look as though it will leave players in a lurch the way P.T. did.

In Allison Road, you'll become an unnamed protagonist who awakens in his house without any recollection of prior events. You'll have five nights to discover the whereabouts of your family, unravel the mysteries of the house and confront dark entities that are nested deep within its walls. All the while, the clock will be ticking.

Project lead Chris Kesler: Allison Road isn't about excessive gore or jumpscare horror. It's more the type of horror that leaves you deeply unsettled, but equally you just want to continue to find out what exactly is going on. Peeking around every corner carefully, listening to every sound. Of course it'll get your heart pounding on occasion and hopefully you'll be terrified in the end, but it'll leave you with a really memorable experience.

Allison Road is being developed by indie studio Lillith Ltd with Unreal Engine 4. It will be released for PC/Windows in 2016 with native VR support.
