A demo of the upcoming puzzle-centric adventure game "The Filmmaker," by independent developer Christopher Brendel, has been released! Download links are available on the Downloads section of the game's website at www.unimatrixproductions.com/filmmaker and will be updated continually as additional links become available.

The demo features the first 5% of the full game, making up half of the game's prologue. Little of the story is revealed in the demo. Instead, the demo focuses on exploration (about 50% of the theater can be explored) and puzzle solving (6 challenging puzzles are available in the demo), to give gamers a taste of the "feel" of the full game.

The game works on both Windows XP and Vista. Vista users, however, should note that the game must be run with administrator privileges in order to function properly. Details are provided within the demo's readme file.

In "The Filmmaker", players explore a haunted theater, in an attempt to uncover the mysteries within. As part of their journey, players must go inside several black-and-white movies created by one particular filmmaker, an enigmatic stranger named Claude Ferucil. These movies become fully-explorable environments, each with their own mood, sound, and feel.

The Filmmaker attempts to re-create the mood of classic Hollywood "B-movies," while simultaneously evoking the feel of classic puzzle-based adventures like the original Myst and The 7th Guest.

The full game is due out in the early fall, in time for Halloween.
