Hi, I'm in Canada, so I have been playing Syberia for a couple of days now, and am not yet out of Valiledine. I have to say, you were right, it is wonderful!! Beautiful sound, beautiful art nouveau scenery, mostly very good voice acting (Kate Walker reminds me of Grace from Gabriel Knight II; the gardener NPC is terrible, but you don't have to talk to her much), and mostly the game is logical! So far the characters do logical things, just like you might do if you were in this place in real life. This game unfolds like a story with an actual plot, they don't just make the plot backstory. It is not hard, so far no need to try find a walkthrough, but that is o.k. because it flows, the game isn't interrupted by ridiculous sliding tile puzzles, or what I was more afraid of when I read about it, trying to put together some machine out of 100 gears, springs, and do-dads. So far it is not dark or depressing either, so many games seem to rely on shades of black for "atmosphere". I love the colour, the singing birds, the sky clearing up after the rainstorm. Also technically it seems very stable, no crashes, no freeze-ups, no chattering. Overall a very, very good adventure game, I don't think I have played one this good since "The Longest Journey".
