Letters

Randy,

I hope you don't mind an e-mail out of the blue from a reader of JA+ and mostly lurker on the forums (Arnir), but just in case you hadn't seen it yet, I thought you might be interested in an article over at GameSpot. http://www.gamespot.com/features/6144989/index.html While enshrining King's Quest VI into their Greatest Games of All Time list -- certainly a laudible act -- the author states, "This clever, beautiful, and unique adventure game is truly one of the best games that the genre has ever had to offer, and reminds us sadly that adventure gaming may be dying rapidly, but it's never going to be forgotten." I thought it was amusing that not only are adventure games dying as a genre, but the pace of the demise is apparently accelerating as well. As a devoted fan of adventure games, I was wondering when I can get my twenty year pin for patiently sitting at the bedside of a patient that is most unwilling to actually die? It is especially annoying when the dying genre keeps creating great new games when it should be shedding its mortal coil.

Keep up the good work at the site.

Sincerly,
Darren J Pierson
