The Lighthouse was born back in 2014 at Global Game Jam as a 2D point-and-click thriller. It was created in less than 48 hours, which necessitated a limited scope and vision.
The game is currently being re-imagined and rebuilt from the ground up with Unreal 4 as a fully-featured video game.
The Lighthouse takes place in Maine in 1964 and tells the story of Irvine (that's you), a private eye called in to investigate a young girl's disappearance. As you explore and interact with the gameworld, you become caught up in horror inspired by the best classics.
I may be wrong, but I suspect Shadow Knights Studio wants to scare you. Particularly if you play the game in VR.
If you enjoy being frightened, please consider backing The Lighthouse on Kickstarter. The game has been Greenlit and will be released in Q4 2017 for Windows, Mac and VR.
